June and July are pretty hot in the Phoenix area!  The scheduled activities seem to dwindle and there are not many outdoor events planned.  However, there are a few fun things to do in Arizona during the summer and here's a list of some upcoming events for the end of June.

Thursday, June 23rd

The Glendale Summer Bank Concert Series. Join the Glendale Summer Band's 45th season in downtown Glendale on Thursday nights.  The Glendale Summer Band is a community band and the longest-running community bank in Arizona.  On June 23rd this volunteer band will present a Tribute to the Circus.  The concert starts at 8pm and is located at the Murphy Park Amphitheater.  For more information visit www.glendaleaz.com.

Saturday, June 25th

Buckeye Free Pool Day at Buckeye Aquatics Center. The United Buckeye Firefighters Union and the Town of Buckeye have teamed up to provide a free and fun day in the sun along with useful water safety, sun safety and drowning prevention information.  The event starts at 12:30 and runs until 5pm.  For more information visit www.buckeyeaz.gov.

Digital Camera Scavenger Hunt for Families at Estrella Mountain Regional Park. Event starts at 8am at the Navy Area parking lot. Get a list of objects to photograph and head out on your search. Be the first one to complete the list of photographs and win a choice of prizes. In addition the park will be raffling off a family-four pack of Wet 'n Wild tickets! Summer Hiking Safety 101 at White Tank Park. The class will be held at the Nature Center starting at 10am. Learn how to be safe in the hot desert during the summer. Learn other dangers in the desert in addition to the heat. A $6 per family fee will be collected and you can gain access to the park after the class. Venomous Arizona-A Survivor's Guide at Estrella Mountain Regional Park. Learn what to look for, how to prevent injuries and what to do at the air-conditioned Nature Center at 10am. For more information go to www.maricopa.gov/parks.

Summer Concert Series at Arrowhead Towne Center Amphitheater. Enjoy some classic rock and country at Arrowhead Towne Center's Summer Concert Series when Chuck E Baby & The All Stars perform from 7pm to 9pm.  For more information:  www.arrowheadtownecenter.com

Sunday, June 28th

Wigwam Farmer's Market. Held on the front lawn of the resort every Sunday.  The market starts at 7am and ends at 11am.  Look for a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.  In addition you will find "handcrafted delicacies such as cheese, preserves, bread and wine."  For more information visit www.wigwamresort.com

Monday, June 27th

Cabela's Kids Kamp at Cabela's in Glendale. Held every Monday through August.
