Your gaining command sponsor should contact you shortly after you receive your orders. If they do not contact you, you can contact your gaining unit sponsor to get the information you need. Be sure to hand-carry all of your important paperwork. You will need your passports, military service record, leave and earning statements, PCS orders, immunization records for children, marriage certificate, household good inventory lists, military ID cards, and proof of car registration and insurance.
Contact the Defense Personal Property system to set up the pick-up and delivery of your household items.
Luke Air Force Base offers child care services for personnel as well as a program called Heartlink for military spouses. Military personnel and family can also use the Family Services’ Loan Closet where you can borrow kitchenware, baby furnishings, futons and other household items if needed.
Any newcomers to Luke Air Force Base are encouraged to visit the Airman and Family Readiness Center. You will receive information about the local community, such as maps, brochures, school data, crime rates and recreational activities.
